  • Historical Roots: Explore the rich history and cultural significance of guavas, rooted in centuries of tradition.
  • Journey to Your Garden: Follow the path that brought the Cattley Guava to your garden.
  • Aesthetic Appeal: Admire the slender stems, glossy leaves, and the fragrant charm of this guava variety.

Planting Your Cattley Guava 🌱

  1. Choose the Right Spot: Find a sunny location in your garden to give your guava the warmth it craves. Full sun exposure is key for optimal fruit production.
  2. Prepare the Soil: Guavas thrive in well-drained soil. If your soil is heavy clay, consider adding organic matter to improve drainage.
  3. Dig the Hole: When planting your guava, make a hole as wide as the root ball and equal in depth. This provides ample space for the roots to establish.
  4. Transplanting: Gently remove the guava plant from its pot, ensuring not to plant it too deep. Place it in the center of the hole, with the top of the root ball level with the surrounding soil. Pack the soil tightly to eliminate air pockets.
  5. Watering: After planting, give your guava a good soaking to settle the soil around the roots. Keep the soil consistently moist, but avoid waterlogged conditions.

Caring for Your Cattley Guava 🌴

  1. Fertilizing: Guavas benefit from regular feeding during the growing season. Use a balanced, slow-release fertilizer following the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Pruning: Maintain your guava's shape and remove dead or diseased branches through pruning. This encourages new growth and better fruit production.
  3. Pest and Disease Control: Keep an eye out for common pests like fruit flies. Guava trees are generally hardy but may need pest control in certain conditions.
  4. Harvesting: Harvest guava fruits when they change from green to yellow. Twist the fruit from the branch to avoid damage. Use them fresh or in a variety of culinary creations.
  5. Winter Protection: In colder climates, consider providing frost protection to safeguard your guava during chilly nights.

Ideal for All Subtropical Gardeners 🏡

🪴 Southern Florida Gardeners: Cattley Guava is a top choice for Southern Florida's climate. It's cold-hardy down to about 22°F. 🍉 Fruit Enthusiasts: If you relish the tangy zest of lemon and the sweetness of guava, this variety is a must-have for your garden. 🌴 Tropical Fruit Lovers: Transport your taste buds to the tropics with Cattley Guava's unique flavor. 🌞 Subtropical Zone 9 Gardeners: Ideal for gardeners in zone 9, where pests are rarely an issue. 🌱 Low-Maintenance Gardeners: Enjoy the benefits of a fruit-bearing plant with relatively low maintenance.

Not Ideal For:

❄️ Cold Climate Gardeners: If you live in regions with harsh winters and freezing temperatures, Cattley Guava may not be suitable. 🏢 Limited Space: While versatile, Cattley Guava still requires some room to grow. If space is restricted, consider dwarf or patio fruit trees. 🏃‍♂️ Quick Results Seekers: Guava trees may take a few years to start bearing fruit. If you're after rapid fruiting, explore other options. 💧 Poor Soil Drainage: Ensure your garden has good drainage to accommodate Cattley Guava's needs.

In summary, Lemon Cattley Guava offers a zesty twist to your garden with its cold-hardy nature and delightful flavor. However, it may not be the best fit for cold climates, limited spaces, or those seeking quick results. 🚚 LIVE PLANT SHIPPING & TRANSIT EXPECTATIONS

Live plants naturally experience stress during shipping. Temporary leaf drop, mild wilting, or cosmetic stress is normal after transit. Most plants recover quickly with proper watering, gradual light exposure, and basic aftercare. Some plants may require additional attention during the first few weeks.

Despite careful packing, minor cosmetic damage may occur during transit. Small issues such as broken leaves or stems typically resolve with time and proper care.

If your shipping box arrives with significant external damage, please contact UPS within 30 days to initiate a carrier claim.

⏱️ SHIPPING METHOD, TIMING & TRANSIT WINDOWS

All online orders ship via UPS Ground from our Central Florida nursery.

📦 Shipping Schedule: Orders ship once weekly on Mondays to reduce the risk of packages sitting in transit over weekends. A countdown clock on our website displays the next shipping date.

🚚 Typical Transit Times:
  • Florida: 1–2 days

  • Southern U.S.: approximately 2 days

  • Midwest, West & Northern U.S.: 3–5 business days

Long-distance shipments, particularly to the western U.S., may experience additional transit time due to agricultural inspections in states such as Arizona, California, and Texas.

Extended transit times can be more challenging for small or tender plants and may require additional recovery care after arrival.

We cannot guarantee plant condition during periods of extreme summer heat or winter cold and freezing temperatures. Weather-related delays, carrier interruptions, or exposure during delivery are beyond our control.

Customers are responsible for:
